Does my homeowner’s insurance cover my jewelry?

December 14, 2017

While many homeowner’s insurance policies do deal with jewelry, it is considered a “non-essential” household item. Say you owned a gorgeous diamond ring valued at $10,000, and this ring was stolen in a burglary. Under most standard homeowner’s insurance policies, there is a low cap for the monetary value of your jewelry. If your homeowner’s insurance allowed you to be reimbursed at all, it would be for a fraction of the ring's actual value. That's why at Cohen Jewelry Insurance thats's a big NO! NO! They refuse any type of settlement because no one deserves less than what they paid.
